what is sliding scale?

— massage therapy can often be positioned as unattainable care.

this is due to sometimes high pricing, inaccessibility to insurance, and many other things. i believe that massage therapy is an often-overlooked healing modality that all people deserve to have access to, regardless of socioeconomic status.

i have my pricing structured in tiers:

these descriptions are merely a guideline and not intended to be all-encompassing statements. i trust that my clients are truthful in their assessment of self-need and i will never ask questions or investigate into a client’s financial situation. please also be aware that i do not accept tips due to the pricing structure of my business.

tier one — $85-95

you often struggle to meet basic needs, such as bills, groceries, etc.

you have trouble affording health insurance, or do not have access to health insurance that covers services such as massage, acupuncture, and similar services.

you often find yourself without expendable income for extra luxuries such as traveling or eating out.

you are unemployed or underemployed, and not by choice.

for individuals who would otherwise be unable to afford massage therapy and need community support.

tier two— $95-105

you don’t often struggle to meet basic needs, such as bills, groceries, etc.

you have health insurance, but do not have access to health insurance that covers services such as massage, acupuncture, and similar services.

you sometimes find yourself with expendable income for extra luxuries such as traveling or eating out.

you are employed, with a stable job or income, and do not see this changing in the near future.

for individuals who are financially comfortable, but still find themselves needing extra support time to time.

tier three — $115-125

you do not struggle to meet basic needs, such as bills, groceries, etc.

you have health insurance that is considered to be high-quality.

you often find yourself with expendable income for extra luxuries such as traveling or eating out.

you are employed, with a stable job or high-paying income, and do not see this changing in the near future.

for individuals who are very financially comfortable and are able to pay a little extra in order to offset the cost for community members in need of support.

at time of payment, i will ask clients how much they are able to pay and they will respond with whatever number they choose feels correct to their financial situation. i will not press the matter or ask any questions, the number you choose is your choice and not for me to weigh in on.

if any of these pricing models still do not work for you and are preventing you from accessing care, please feel free to contact me and we can discuss! i have chosen these pricing models in order to create a balance between being able to support myself financially as well as support my community, but if you are still unable to afford, i may be able to take on a small number of clients pro-bono or at a further discounted rate!
